| This
ministry is primarily to the Native American people on the Reservations
of the Southwestern United States. On the Navajo Reservation,
unemployment and alcoholism are both over 50% and many are still
without electricity or running water. Numbering more than 230,000,
nearly half of the Navajo people are age 21 or under. Most of
these still cling to their traditional Navajo religion, which
is rooted in medicine men, or singers, who commune with the
spirit world to bring individuals back to harmony with the creation.
However, there are new and growing religions making great inroads
to the reservation. Among them is the “Native American
Church”, an Indian-only sect that worships with the use
of the drug, peyote, and the even newer movement of incorporating
Native traditional practices into church services. |

Yet
the reservation is not without a Christian presence, there are
many mission churches; but to find a vibrant, indigenous church
where the gospel is truly preached and the Lord Jesus Christ
transforms lives seems rare. |
| Our
ministry among the Native Americans is threefold. Each fall,
we have a booth at local fairs, such as the Apache White Mountain
Fair and the Shiprock Northern Navajo Fair, for the purpose
of evangelism. Here we witness, give away tracts, salvation
booklets and Bibles. |

|
Secondly,
in the spring and fall, we hold a Native American Leadership
Conference in Window Rock, Arizona. The Reservations present
one of the most difficult places in America to be a pastor.
We desire to exhort these men to endure hardship, do the work
of the evangelist, and to fulfill their ministry. |
| Thirdly,
we assist in establishing churches. This involves supplying
labor, materials, evangelism, and Vacation Bible Schools, as
we work side-by-side with Native American pastors in the initial
phase of the church plant.

things which you have heard from me in the presence of many
witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, who will be able to
teach others also. |
